Welcome to Berger Family Dental! We are excited to meet you and your family!

POST COVID-19 REOPENING LETTER

Dear Patients of Berger Family Dental:

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. Now more than ever, patients will appreciate the extra time, new equipment, and PPE that it takes to satisfy Dr. Berger and team, to ensure patient and staff safety.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We have added medical grade HEPA Purifiers for another layer of protection as well as ordered new equipment and PPE to further reduce the risks for patients and team.

You will see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. We appreciate your patience during this transition to the new normal.

For example:

Our office will communicate with you before your appointment to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office and your temperature will be taken.

You will be asked to call and or text us when you arrive and wait in your car instead of the waiting room until we text or speak with you to let you know your treatment room is ready. Only the patient and guardian will be allowed in the office for the appointment. Berger Family Dental Text Messages come from (502) 212-9453 and you may respond by texting that number if you wish, and the phone number for voice calls only is (502) 491-0330.

You will be required to bring and wear your own mask at all times while in the office, before and after treatment, removing it only when requested by the providers. This will help keep our entire office safer.

Hand sanitizer must be used when you enter the office and leave the dental chair.

Current recommendations are to begin treating low risk category patients which may require continued deferral of elective dental visits for people over the age of 60 that take medications for medical conditions. This group will need to consult with their medical providers and make a decision on when it appears safe enough to resume non-urgent cleanings, etc.

You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, refreshments, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.

Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time, but please be patient.

Like many other dental offices nationwide, we will be implementing a small $10 fee per patient visit to help offset the increasing costs of Personal Protective Equipment, to ensure patient safety. Berger Family Dental has strived to maintain the highest quality dental care at affordable, less than competitor prices, and the new PPE fee will hopefully allow us to maintain our reasonable fee schedules and keep needed items stocked.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at (502) 491-0330 or visit our website at WWW.BergerSmiles.com

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.

Sincerely,
Aaron S. Berger DMD and the Berger Family Team
